Job Description:
-Reporting to the Engineering Manager this job will entail getting
product requirements, planning and executing the tests on software for Grid
Automation, Energy Management, Protection Relays and Metering device configuration
in a global matrix-ed organization.
-Candidate should have willingness to work with Flexible working hours to facilitate communication with offshore team members
- Work with GE Multilin IEDs (Protection relays, metering devices,
Data Acquisition systems), getting complete understanding on all of their aspects
- Work with EnerVista software development and testing teams (at multiple locations) on requirements gathering/analysis, preparation of test plan & procedures - Test and verify the operation of new and existing features of the software and IED configuration tools as assigned and ensure quality and adherence to timelines - Implement final test procedures and produce verification and Validation Test reports and any relevant testing documentation. - Contribute to and follow the Test Planning & Execution Processes and Standards as observed by NPI Test Team, involve in reviews. - Maintaining the Test Setup, IEDs, Power System Simulators and accessories. - Estimation, planning and execution of tests for various product releases. - Though not major activity, testing of firmware and communication protocol is also part of responsibility - Gain knowledge of process and tools used by Test Engineering team and apply them as required. - Evaluate and recommend more efficient technologies and tools. - Author and review test plans and validation and verification reports - Contribute ideas on product and process improvements - Should be flexible to work on manual testing and automation based on business need. - Generate test plans based on the field scenarios.
Requirements:
-MS/BS (Engineering) in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science/
Power Systems. People with good academics.
- Minimum 2+ years of Testing on SW on protection relays related experience and exposure to automation on for HMI testing. - Exposure to Electrical protection, substation automation and SCADA. - Experience with numerical protection Relays. - Prior experience with Testing HMI, software & protection Relays - Strong Multi-Tasking and proactive and open approach to conflict resolution - Good analytical and learning skills - Good written and verbal communication skills. - Attention to detail and accuracy especially with respect to development and execution of test procedures and recording test results & Automation Tracking and documentation. - Experience with Communication Protocols – Modbus, OPC, DNP, IEC 61850, Devicenet. - Having field exposure is desirable.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Software/firmware testing and SDLC knowledge - Testing & Scripting knowledge of GUI Test Automation tools - Silk Test or QTP or LabView - Industrial Automation - Electrical Power distribution networks. - Usage of Power System Simulators/ Pulsar/ Manta/ Omicron/ Doble - Project Management - Six sigma GB/ Reliability knowledge - Working experience with global teams - Experience with setting up and maintaining test beds and test setups |
